Picklers & Tomatoes & More


The Pickler’s (pickling cucumbers) are coming to an end…the plants have produced several hundred pounds of cucumbers for all sorts of canning needs…if you want to do Pickles this year put in your order.  Orders are filling within a week–short wait time!  Cost is $25 for 13# (half bushel- field run)–dill included if requested.   (The cucumbers may continue to produce, but the dill will be seeded out within a short time…)

Tomato plants are loaded and though folks have been anxiously waiting, they usually don’t start producing in volume until the first week in August.  We will be ready to fill tomato orders around August 15th.  We grow Heirloom, Roma’s, and Celebrity for canning–costs vary, sizes are usually 20# boxes.  Prices are posted at http://www.lloydcraftfarms.com , Canner’s tab.  

There are other items for sale in bulk for freezing or pickling:  Cauliflower, Broccoli, CabbageAll are ready RIGHT NOW.  Our fall cauliflower is ready early…once it is gone it is gone!  Unlike the Broccoli there is no side production to continue to harvest once the head is harvested.  Fermentation is best when the cabbage is fresh from the garden…more natural healthy bacteria included thanks to mother nature…
