Monday EXTENSION- Bee Healthy

Janet, the owner of Bee Healthy, has asked that we keep the produce in her cooler for Monday…and I said…OK.  Saturday we sold out of Broccoli heads and Slicing cucumbers, so will bring in some more for those that may have missed out Saturday.  We also have left in the case some small heads of Cabbage for burgers and coleslaw, and the last of the Spring Cauliflower at a greatly reduced price!  The Cucumbers are the thing right now in the garden-  long snakey Striped Armenians, 1# bag of Heirloom Lemon Cucumbers, and the slicers which are Corinto or Olympian variety this year.  I’ll throw in some Tasty Jades for Monday, too.  Tasty Jades are long, English-style, and super fresh…just harvested today! Other items are 2 oz Fresh Basil (and 1 oz bags of other herbs), Shishito and purple Bell Peppers, Jalapeno Peppers, 5 oz bags of Broccoli, Kale, Red Radishes, and bags of smaller sized Summer Squash.

Tomatoes will be ready in August, and you can order Pickling Cucumbers by texting 431-1219… Thanks!

Take advantage of the EXTRA Day this week:  Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  We will be back again on Saturday for Saturday Market at The Bee!  New items:  baby Bok Choi and our fresh harvest of the Fall Cauliflowers–Stark White and full of Flavor!

See you at The Bee for Saturday Market on Monday–oh, my, this is getting complicated!   The Farmer’s Wife

Picklers & Tomatoes & More

business-card

The Pickler’s (pickling cucumbers) are coming to an end…the plants have produced several hundred pounds of cucumbers for all sorts of canning needs…if you want to do Pickles this year put in your order.  Orders are filling within a week–short wait time!  Cost is $25 for 13# (half bushel- field run)–dill included if requested.   (The cucumbers may continue to produce, but the dill will be seeded out within a short time…)

Order by emailing craftterri@rtconnect.net, or texting to 307-431-1219.

Tomato plants are loaded and though folks have been anxiously waiting, they usually don’t start producing in volume until the first week in August.  We will be ready to fill tomato orders around August 15th.  We grow Heirloom, Roma’s, and Celebrity for canning–costs vary, sizes are usually 20# boxes.  Prices are posted at http://www.lloydcraftfarms.com , Canner’s tab.

There are other items for sale in bulk for freezing or pickling:  Cauliflower, Broccoli, CabbageAll are ready RIGHT NOW.  Our fall cauliflower is ready early…once it is gone it is gone!  Unlike the Broccoli there is no side production to continue to harvest once the head is harvested.  Fermentation is best when the cabbage is fresh from the garden…more natural healthy bacteria included thanks to mother nature…

Good Food for Healthy Bodies–consider setting things up for the winter months!  Freeze, dehydrate, can, ferment…
