Week 6- Group A- Walk-in’s Welcome!


So good to have the sun shining!  It’s been a busy day here on The Farm:  dried 3 bundles of Parsley in the oven, sliced Jalapeno peppers to freeze, washed and spun lettuce to use in salads for the week, and preparing to make a big batch of Cauliflower Soup with leeks and slivered almonds…it’s clean-out the fridge day!  So wonderful to have the good produce, and then to ‘put it up’ for use when we don’t have it–

This week’s BOX-Greybull Valley Living Green Leaf lettuce, 3# Heirloom Oranges, head of ORG Celery, ORG Cucumber, ORG Lacinato Kale, ORG Jumbo Yellow Onion, ORG Cliptop Carrots, ORG Garlic Bulb, 5# bag ORG Yukon Potatoes, and ORG Snap Peas–$30

The kale, onion, carrot, garlic, and potatoes can be used for Portugese Kale Soup…other items needed are 8 c. chicken broth, Thyme, canned tomatoes (28 oz), canned Cannelli beans (14 oz), and pork sausage such as Kielbasa (meat is optional).  Soup recipe is #67 at http://www.lloydcraftfarms.com .
