Thanks to those that adopted the 5 Surplus TUESDAY BOXES today!  We appreciate it soooo much…makes it possible for us to keep going.  There are no big bucks to be made in produce, but we understand how important it is to have a fresh source of high quality fruits and veggies, and herbs such as turmeric and ginger, so we will do our best and keep doing what we are doing!

(I do have to figure out how to have less left over though–it makes it hard to get the garden things done for the summer garden, and the spring high tunnels planted and tended if we are working on the Buyer’s Group/Walk-in’s for 5 days out of a week.)

Thanks to those that have signed up for the CSA–haven’t had time to respond and see where we are with the memberships, but the Early Bird Voucher deadline of May 5th is rapidly approaching!

Check out our web under the CSA tab–

  • $100 gets you a monthly Share of the garden but membership to shop every Thursday at The Farm.
  • $200 gets you the Leap-Frog Share– 7 weeks, every other week.
  • $350 gets you the Weekly Share– 13 weeks, every week from July 10th into October.
  • All of the above can be expanded into October through an Extension.

Have a good week!  Visit us at Bee Healthy on Monday’s, and get signed up for the CSA to get the freshest and best-est produce for the summer into the fall!

Chronic Inflammation and Aging

sliced avocado fruits on round white ceramic plate

Have you ever seen an old friend after many years of not, and thought, “Wow!  They look rough and much older than they should.”  Chances are they are suffering from chronic inflammation, and just are not feeling that great!

According to Dr. Micozzi in his April 2nd post called Chronic Inflammation and Aging, chronic inflammation is the No. 1 cause of disease…and aging. He says research links chronic inflammation to virtually every major disease of our time, including Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, cancer, heart disease, and Type II diabetes.

To read my summary of his 6 starting points on the foods you should eat (or avoid) to reduce inflammation, go to http://www.lloydcraftfarms.com and check for the page “Chronic Inflammation and Aging” under the Nutrition tab.  To get health  information first hand, sign up for Dr. Micozzi’s Insiders’ Cure newsletters at http://www.drmicozzi.com
