Two upcoming classes in September– SAUERKRAUT MAKING & GREEN BEANS AND THE PROCESSOR

Both are on September 14th, 2013

9:00 a.m. – Sauerkraut Making–  Learn how to make sauerkraut in a gallon jar on your counter and then store in a ziplock in your fridge for up to two months, or in a crock.  Gain probiotics and juices to help your digestive tract and keep it healthy.  Also learn how to hot water bath larger batches to keep over the winter.  (Reuben’s anyone?)

11:00 a.m. – How to Can Green Beans– Learn the techniques necessary to can green beans and other low acid foods that require a pressure cooker.  No need to fear the canner, just learn how to operate it! 

Cost is $20 for one class and $30 for both.  Registration necessary, space limited.  Come and join us for the fifth in this summer series with Brenda Green, canner extraordinaire. 

Cabbage can be purchased through the Canner’s Share for $25 for 6 heads– Individual heads can be purchased for $.50 a pound  by emailing tcraft@rtconnect.net   (Second planting now ready to go!)
